Boss Dentistry

When should I bring my child to the dentist?

As per the American Dental Association’s recommendation, we suggest that parents bring their children for their first visit within six months of their first tooth eruption or by their first birthday. Children’s teeth and gums are just as important as adult permanent teeth, and tiny smiles require special care and consideration.

Your Child's First Dental Visit

At Boss Dentistry, our friendly and caring dental team provides comprehensive pediatric dentistry to children of all ages. We love caring for small smiles, and we always make sure our young patients and their parents feel comfortable and confident during their visit with us.

During the first dental visit, you can expect:

  • Review of any smile concerns or goals
  • Safe digital dental x-rays
  • Full-mouth examination
  • Thorough and gentle teeth cleaning and polishing
  • Fluoride or sealant treatment, if needed

We also discuss best practices for brushing and flossing, as well as other oral hygiene tips. Having a clean and plaque-free smile is essential for enjoying the glow of great dental health, and going to regular dental visits for exams and cleanings are equally important.

Every child is different, so the frequency of your child’s dental visits is based on their unique oral health needs.
