At Boss Dentistry, we care for each patient as if they were our closest family members, including children. We understand kids can feel uneasy about encountering an unfamiliar situation, like visiting the dentist. But don't worry; we are here for you and your family!

To help you nip dental fear in the bud, we’ve collected some tips on how to make your child feel more comfortable and safe during their dental visit.

#1 Visit while they are young.

Good oral health starts early in life, and dental visits are integral to your child's teeth and gums. Bringing your child to the dentist when they’re young helps them become more familiar with the process, and therefore less afraid or nervous when they visit us.

#2 Have a positive attitude.

Use positive language and remind them that the dentist is a fun place where they’ll get their teeth cleaned. If you have a positive attitude about the dentist, your kids will pick up on this and impact how they feel.

#3 Keep it simple.

Kindly explain to your little one what to expect. For example, you can let them know they’ll take a ride in the dental chair, and the dentist will clean their teeth. Remind them that you will be together throughout the appointment, and try not to overwhelm them with little details about their visit.

#4 Teach your child the importance of having healthy teeth.

If your child understands why it’s essential to have healthy teeth, they might be more willing to hop in the dental chair with a big grin.

#5 Have a pre-appointment meet and greet.

A pre-appointment visit can help your child feel more comfortable because the setting and people will be familiar. You and your child can tour our dental office, meet the dentist and our staff, and take a ride in the dental chair.
